WMS Group has appointed a new motorcycle warranty expert to help drive and develop the business’ motorcycle warranty product range as it continues to provide innovative and specialist solutions for the automotive industry.

Kerry Whitaker joins WMS with extensive experience in the vehicle warranty industry, as well as a lifelong passion for motorcycles. Her specialist experience with motorcycles will see Kerry work together with colleagues to build on WMS’ existing motorcycle products, but also to develop new ones under the group’s market-leading Safe & Sound brand.

Kerry’s appointment doesn’t represent the first time she has worked for WMS, however, as she previously spent several years with the company as a business manager.

In her new role, Kerry will be working directly with motorcycle dealers to provide them with the warranty tools needed to increase sales and best support customers with their after-sale requirements.

Kerry said: “Since becoming part of Opteven, WMS has transformed, and the business is in a completely different place to what I remember. Additional investment and expertise, made possible by Opteven, means that the business is in a strong position to introduce new sustainable solutions, and I am delighted to re-join WMS Group at a really exciting time for the business, and the wider industry.

“WMS is well known for its car warranty solutions, and I am excited to bring my passion and experience into the company to really make a mark on developing and delivering specialist solutions specifically developed for the motorcycle industry too.

“Bike dealers work very differently from car dealers – for many it’s a way of life – and I’ve spent a long time in my career really understanding what they need and want from warranty solutions. I feel very fortunate to be able to work with colleagues at WMS to respond to those needs through the development of a whole of suite of bespoke products.”

As an immediate priority, Kerry will be focussing on developing a set of products ready for dealers’ ‘peak season’ in the spring, with a view of supporting them to create an off-peak revenue stream all year round. She will also be focussing on adding a specialist recovery agent to WMS’ offer to provide roadside assistance to stranded bike users.

Kerry added: “My aim is to develop a suite of products that support manufacturers and dealers, and I’m looking forward to working alongside the industry to create pioneering and market-leading solutions.”

Neil Monks, Head of Sales at WMS, said: “Kerry really speaks the language of motorcycle dealers, and we’re delighted to have her on board to help develop our product offer for this targeted sector. Kerry has a wealth of unrivalled experience and fully understands bike retailers’ – and their customers’ needs when it comes to warranty solutions and we’re looking forward to working with her as we strive to create the best motorcycle warranty products on the market.”

WMS Group is proud to be sponsoring this year’s Motorcycle Live ‘Trade Tuesday’ on December 7 2021, where Kerry and the team will be on hand to meet with trade visitors to discuss how WMS can support them in providing the idea motorcycle warranty solution to customers.
