WMS Group partners with Brake

Warranty specialists the WMS Group have today announced their partnership with road safety charity, Brake.

Every 30 seconds somebody, somewhere in the world, is killed in a road crash, often leaving behind a trail of mass destruction and inconceivable loss. Road safety charity Brake is campaigning to end the carnage once and for all in their quest to stop the needless deaths and serious injuries that happen on our roads every day.

Brake promotes road safety awareness, safe and sustainable road use and effective road safety policies, campaigning nationally and regionally to make our communities safer and greener, and improving support for crash victims and their families. Warranty specialists WMS Group have collaborated with Brake to help raise awareness of the devastating consequences, having made an initial four figure donation which will be supported by future fundraising activities and safety awareness exercises.

Sarah-Jane Martin, corporate fundraiser at Brake comments: “Brake is delighted that the WMS Group have committed to supporting the charity, and to raising awareness about road safety. I applaud their dedication to supporting road crash victims, and passion for improving road safety. Their efforts are a fantastic example of how companies can get involved to improve road safety and Brake looks forward to a long-lasting partnership with the WMS Group.”

Brake offers a dedicated victim helpline and support packs, community education support, a Fleet Safety Forum and practitioner services. They also coordinate the UK’s flagship road safety event every November, Road Safety Week, campaigning to raise awareness amongst the public and prevent road deaths and injuries.

Steph Newbery, marketing manager of the WMS Group adds: “Road safety is of paramount importance to the WMS Group, and this is reflected in our Safe and Sound warranty scheme which encompasses a comprehensive safety inspection carried out by the selling dealer. We are proud to be supporting Brake and together aim to end the devastating ramifications of road traffic collisions.

All too often we hear horror stories of unroadworthy cars that have been sold, or drivers being forced to scrimp on routine maintenance because they simply cannot afford to have the necessary repairs carried out. Working in partnership with Brake will allow us to extend the importance of road safety awareness, and help them to continue the fantastic work they do.”

Brake was founded in the UK in 1995, and now has domestic operations in the UK and New Zealand working globally to promote action on road safety. To make a donation or find out about fundraising opportunities, please visit brake.org.uk.
