The company was founded by Antony Lewis, a 30 year veteran of the car industry who was frustrated at the previous internet research, buying and discussion offerings. He realised that the power of bringing together buyers, sellers and drivers in a dynamic conversation to facilitate decision-making wasn’t being utilised effectively, and the ability for users to streamline their search of key features was missing.

CarCliq first launched as a discussion forum in August 2012, becoming fully operational in October 2012 for dealers to list their stock. It is the culmination of two years’ preparation by a team of expert people drawn from marketing, digital and business development backgrounds, as well as Antony Lewis. A key launch objective was to promote the CarCliq name across a broad consumer spectrum in order to increase awareness, create footfall and boost registration. The company tell us that to fulfil this, they have negotiated an extensive marketing campaign including in-store promotional presences in Sainsbury’s, Wickes and Homebase nationwide for the course of 2013.

If you ask us, it sounds like CarCliq is set to become the definitive website for motorists and the trade. To find out more, visit
